MYANMAR
About 6,800 people have been newly displaced in Kachin State since early April when fighting broke out between the Myanmar Army and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Clashes have displaced people from locations in 6 different townships across Kachin State. Thousands have arrived in urban areas where displaced people are sheltering in local churches, existing IDP camps, or with host families and receiving aid from union, state and local authorities, CSOs, national and international NGOs, as well as private donors. Access to some conflict-affected areas remains difficult for both international and national humanitarian organizations.
